Conservation International’s (CI) homepage receives over 30,000 page views a month and about 16% of visits to conservation.org include a view of the homepage. This refresh aimed to answer the following questions: “Are we clearly communicating who we are and what we do?” and “Is it easy for users to find the information they’re looking for?” 

My team worked to clearly distinguish links and clearly give the user a linear introduction to the organization and help them better access the information that would allow them to better understand the organization. The new design was A/B tested alongside the original layout and demonstrated more email sign-ups (+28%), more clicks to ‘about us’ (+23%), and more clicks to donate (+8%). Not to mention an increased engagement on secondary pages.
